Ingredients:
1 recipe - blitz puff pastry - or store-bought puff pastry (Learn How)
3/4 cup(s) Parmesan cheese (shredded)
1 tablespoon(s) paprika
1 egg - beaten
Steps:
-Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
-In a bowl, combine the paprika and the cheese.
-On a lightly floured work surface, roll the puff pastry into a large rectangle (12 x 16 inches).
-Brush the pastry with the beaten egg. Sprinkle the cheese mix onto the pastry. Press down on the cheese to make sure it sticks.
-Fold the long end of the pastry in half as you would close a book.
-Roll the pastry again into a large rectangle (12 x 16 inches).
-Place the pastry onto a wax paper-lined baking sheet and into the freezer for about 15 minutes.
-Place the pastry onto your work surface. With a sharp knife, trim the edges even.
-Cut the pastry into strips about 1/2-inch wide.
-Place a hand on both ends of the pastry. Roll forward with one hand and backward with the other until a noticeable spiral pattern occurs.
-Return the straws to a sheet pan. Freeze until solid (about 10 minutes).
-Bake the straws at 425 degrees about 12 minutes or until lightly golden.
