Straining the yogurt will take 6 hours or more. You may want to start the recipe a day in advance.
Ingredients:
6 cup(s) yogurt
2/3 cup(s) sugar (granulated)
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
Steps:
-Place several layers of cheesecloth into a colander. Put the yogurt inside the cheesecloth and fold the corners over the top of the yogurt.
-Place the colander into a bowl in the refrigerator and allow to strain for at least 6 hours. The yogurt will strain to about half the volume.
-Whisk together the strained yogurt, the sugar and the vanilla. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
-Spin the yogurt in an ice cream maker as recommended by the manufacturer.
