Straining the yogurt will take 6 hours or more. You may want to start the recipe a day in advance. | Ingredients: | | 6 cup(s) yogurt | | 2/3 cup(s) sugar (granulated) | | 1 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract | |
Steps: | | -Place several layers of cheesecloth into a colander. Put the yogurt inside the cheesecloth and fold the corners over the top of the yogurt. | | -Place the colander into a bowl in the refrigerator and allow to strain for at least 6 hours. The yogurt will strain to about half the volume. | | -Whisk together the strained yogurt, the sugar and the vanilla. Refrigerate for 1 hour. | | -Spin the yogurt in an ice cream maker as recommended by the manufacturer. |
