How To Cook Slow Cooked  Ham with Horseradish Glaze   Comment On This Recipe
This ham recipe is adapted for a slow cooker or crock pot. This glaze could be used with other techniques though.
Ingredients:
1 ham (fully cooked) - 6-8 lb.
2 cup(s) orange juice
2 cup(s) cold water
1 cup(s) apricot preserves
1/2 cup(s) horseradish (prepared)
1/2 cup(s) brown sugar (light)
Steps:
-Place the ham, orange juice and water into a slow cooker.
-Let the ham rest for at least 20 minutes before serving.
-Turn the heat up to high or 350 degrees until the liquid starts to simmer.
-Turn the heat down to low and let it cook (lid on) for 3 hours.
-Mix the preserves, horseradish and sugar together in a small saucepan and heat to combine.
-Score the ham in a diamond pattern and pour half of the glaze over the ham.
-Continue to cook for another two hours. Baste with the glaze every half hour.
-Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
-Place the ham in a roasting pan and top with the remaining glaze.
-Bake for 30-40 minutes until the ham is 140 degrees.
-Cover with a loose tent of foil.
