Steps: |
| -With an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. |
| -Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and beat until combined. |
| -Mix together the flour, salt and baking powder in a separate bowl. |
| -Add the flour mixture and beat until a smooth dough is formed. |
| -Divide the dough in half and wrap in plastic wrap; refrigerate for one hour to overnight. |
| -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees a half hour before baking. |
| -Remove one of the packets of dough and roll out (on a floured surface) to 1/4-inch thick. |
| -Keep turning the dough as you roll so it does not stick. |
| -Cut out the dough to your desired shape. |
| -Place the cookies on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper; refrigerate for 15 min. |
| -Bake the cookies for 10 minutes and then cool on a wire rack. |
| -Ice or decorate as desired. |
