Ingredients:
1 cup(s) butter (unsalted)
1 1/2 cup(s) sugar (granulated)
2 eggs
2 teaspoon(s) pure vanilla extract
3 1/2 cup(s) flour (all-purpose)
1 pinch salt (iodized)
1 teaspoon(s) baking powder
Steps:
-With an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
-Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and beat until combined.
-Mix together the flour, salt and baking powder in a separate bowl.
-Add the flour mixture and beat until a smooth dough is formed.
-Divide the dough in half and wrap in plastic wrap; refrigerate for one hour to overnight.
-Preheat the oven to 350 degrees a half hour before baking.
-Remove one of the packets of dough and roll out (on a floured surface) to 1/4-inch thick.
-Keep turning the dough as you roll so it does not stick.
-Cut out the dough to your desired shape.
-Place the cookies on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper; refrigerate for 15 min.
-Bake the cookies for 10 minutes and then cool on a wire rack.
-Ice or decorate as desired.
