This is one of the easiest cookies you can make, and it tastes like it took hours.
Ingredients:
2 cup(s) sugar (granulated) - divided
1 pinch kosher salt
2 sheets - blitz puff pastry - or store-bought pastry (Learn How)
Steps:
-Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Combine the sugar and salt.
-Sprinkle 1 Cup of the sugar on a work surface and cover it with one square puff pastry sheet. (If you are using frozen, make sure it has thawed) (Learn How)
-Sprinkle 1/2 Cup of sugar over the sheet and roll it into a 12-inch square.
-Fold in two opposite sides of the pastry sheet square so that they the sides meet in the center.
-Fold in the sides over again, meeting in the middle.
-Fold one half over the other, just like closing a book.
-Cut pastry crosswise into 1/2-inch thick slices.
-Dip cut sides of each piece in sugar and arrange, cut-side up, on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
-Repeat with the remaining pastry sheet.
-Bake palmiers in batches in middle of oven. Cook on one side until golden. Turn the pastries over and cook on the other side until golden.
-Cool on a baking rack.
