Steps: |
| -Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. |
| -Place the salt pork and bacon in a dutch oven on the stove over medium heat. Cook until it begins to crisp, about 5 minutes. |
| -Stir in onion and continue to cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. |
| -Stir in the beans, water, molasses and water. Bring to a boil; stir occasionally. Cover and transfer to the bottom rack of the oven. |
| -Bake, stirring every hour, until the beans are tender, about 4 hours. |
| -Remove the cover and continue to bake until the liquid has thickened. Stir in the vinegar. |
| -You can add more molasses or salt and pepper to taste. |
