Ingredients:
4 1/2 cup(s) apples - or peaches or pears
1 tablespoon(s) lemon juice
2/3 cup(s) brown sugar - firmly packed
2 tablespoon(s) flour (all-purpose)
1/2 cup(s) rolled oats - uncooked
1/2 teaspoon(s) cinnamon (ground)
1 pinch salt (iodized)
1/3 cup(s) butter
Steps:
-Preheat oven to 350 degrees and lightly butter a 9 x 9-inch pan.
-Peel, core and slice the fruit. Arrange in pan and sprinkle with lemon juice.
-In a medium bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon and salt.
-Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
-Sprinkle crumb mixture over fruit.
-Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until fruit is tender and topping is browned.
