For chocolate pudding, add 1/3 cup of milk chocolate chips to the milk mixture after it comes to boil. Cook for 1 minute or until the chocolate melts.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup(s) sugar
1 tablespoon(s) cornstarch
1 pinch salt (iodized)
2 cup(s) milk (whole)
1 tablespoon(s) butter
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
Steps:
-In a small saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt.
-Gradually stir in milk.
-Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a simmer.
-Cook for 1 minute while simmering, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
-In a medium bowl, beat egg yolks until thick a brighter yellow.
-Slowly stir in 1/4 of the milk mixture into the eggs.
-Now add the contents of the bowl to the remaining milk mixture in the pan, stirring constantly.
-Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook until the pudding begins to thicken.
-Remove from heat, and stir in the butter and vanilla.
-Pour mixture into four 6-oz. cups, cover will plastic wrap and refrigerate.
