Steps: |
| -Preheat the oven to 425 degrees and grease two 8-inch cake pans. |
| -Mix flour, salt, baking powder and sugar in a large bowl. |
| -Cut the shortening into the flour with a pastry blender until the mixture resembles a coarse meal. |
| -Add the milk and stir until the dough begins to form a ball. |
| -Turn the dough onto a lightly floured service and knead lightly, making sure not to overmix. (Learn How) |
| -Pat into a half inch thickness. |
| -Cut the biscuits with a ring mold or biscuit cutter. Be sure to cut straight down. Twisting will seal edges and prevent biscuits from rising. |
| -Place touching each other in the cake pans and bake for 15-20 minutes at 425 degrees. |
