Steps: |
| -Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Butter a 7 x 11 casserole. |
| -In a small saucepan, heat milk, sugar, salt and pepper to a simmer. |
| -Add the cornmeal and continue cooking 5 minutes, stirring constantly. |
| -In a small bowl, stir together the eggs, baking powder, water and butter. Add slowly to cornmeal mixture. |
| -Immediately pour the entire batter into the prepared casserole. |
| -Bake at 400 degrees for 25-30 minutes until the spoon bread is set. |
