Steps: |
| -Peel or scrub the potatoes. |
| -Quarter the potatoes and cut into 1-inch chunks. |
| -Place chunks in a large saucepan; fill with water to cover the potatoes by 1 inch. |
| -Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer until potatoes are done (until a fork can easily poke through them), about 15-20 minutes. |
| -Drain the potatoes thoroughly and place into a large mixing bowl. |
| -Add the tablespoons of butter to the potatoes. |
| -Use a potato masher to mash or hand mixer to whip the potatoes. |
| -Fold in the heavy cream and seasonings with a large spoon or rubber spatula. |
| -If you like the potatoes smoother, add a tablespoon of broth at a time until desired consistency. |
