Steps: |
| -Preheat oven to 350 degrees. |
| -In a medium bowl, dissolve 1/2 cup of sugar in warm water and add pecans; soak for 10 minutes. |
| -Drain and discard the sugar water. |
| -In a large bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of sugar, chili powder and red pepper. |
| -Add the pecans and toss to coat. |
| -Spread the pecans evenly on a lightly greased baking sheet. |
| -Bake for 5 minutes, stir, and continue to bake for 5 more minutes until golden brown. |
