Steps: |
| -In a small bowl, gently mix the yeast, warm water and 1 teaspoon of sugar; let stand for 5 minutes. |
| -With a stand mixer, beat 2 tablespoons of sugar and softened butter until creamy. |
| -Add the egg, milk and yeast mixture; beat to blend. |
| -Beating at a low speed, gradually add the flour and beat until blended. |
| -Turn onto a floured surface, and knead until elastic and smooth, about 2-3 minutes. |
| -Place in a large greased bowl and turn the dough to coat the top. |
| -Cover and let rise in a warm place (85 degrees) until doubled in size, about 30 minutes. |
| -Preheat oven to 400 degrees and grease two 9 x 9-inch baking pans. |
| -Punch down down and turn onto a floured surface. |
| -Divide dough into 24 pieces and shape into balls. |
| -Place dough balls into two prepared pans, cover and let rise in warm place for 15 minutes. |
| -Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden. |
| -Brush tops with the melted butter and serve warm. |
