Ingredients:
1 package active dry yeast - 1/4 oz.
1/4 cup(s) warm water - 105-115 degrees
1 teaspoon(s) sugar
2 tablespoon(s) sugar
2 tablespoon(s) butter - softened
1 1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
1 large egg
1 1/4 cup(s) milk
4 cup(s) all-purpose flour
2 tablespoon(s) butter - melted
Steps:
-In a small bowl, gently mix the yeast, warm water and 1 teaspoon of sugar; let stand for 5 minutes.
-With a stand mixer, beat 2 tablespoons of sugar and softened butter until creamy.
-Add the egg, milk and yeast mixture; beat to blend.
-Beating at a low speed, gradually add the flour and beat until blended.
-Turn onto a floured surface, and knead until elastic and smooth, about 2-3 minutes.
-Place in a large greased bowl and turn the dough to coat the top.
-Cover and let rise in a warm place (85 degrees) until doubled in size, about 30 minutes.
-Preheat oven to 400 degrees and grease two 9 x 9-inch baking pans.
-Punch down down and turn onto a floured surface.
-Divide dough into 24 pieces and shape into balls.
-Place dough balls into two prepared pans, cover and let rise in warm place for 15 minutes.
-Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden.
-Brush tops with the melted butter and serve warm.
