Give your dad a break from grill duty and make a burger he’ll never forget!

Dude Ranch Burgers

Prep time: 20 minutes
Yields:  5 8oz. burgers

2 lbs. lean ground beef
2 Tbl. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 lb. Andouille sausage, small diced
1/2 c yellow onion, grated
2 Tbl. garlic, minced
2 Tbl. parsley, chopped
1/2 c white cheddar, small diced
1 pablano chile, seeded & fine diced

Mix all ingredients together making sure not to overwork the ground beef.  For best flavor, do this a day ahead of time and store in a zip-top bag overnight.  Form patties.  Grill to desired temperature and serve on buns with your favorite toppings.

Whether your dad is hitting the golf course or just battling 5 o’clock traffic, this delicious and portable snack can be tailored to fit any man’s taste.  It’s also healthy, but we won’t tell him that.

Just mix up a fancy version of what the Boy Scouts would call GORP - good old raisins and peanuts.  We like any combination of these:

*Dried fruit

*M&M’s or Reese’s Pieces
*Granola
*Chex or Cheerios

Give your dad what he really wants this Father’s Day….beer.  Try pairing a dinner with local or interesting varieties of beer.  Pair Ales with heavier foods like barbecue, grilled meats and roasted vegetables.  Lager beers go well with seafood and chicken dishes.  For dessert, experiment with Lambic pairings.  We like the combination of a dark chocolate cake and Lindeman’s Kriek (cherry beer).
